PocketPills is a tech-driven pharmacy that is redefining pharmacy experience for consumers in Canada. Consumers can place an order on the App from the convenience of their home. We presort medications into “PocketPacks” and deliver them to the doorstep, for free. Our innovative, online pharmacy platform is aimed at significantly reducing cost, improving medication adherence and providing easy access to pharmacists. With direct access to patients’ medication history and using other healthcare information, we will predict medication adherence, medication efficacy, disease progression and incidence of new diseases by leveraging machine learning. Our addressable market is the retail pharmacy industry in Canada (~$25B annual revenues).

Job Description

The company is hiring a data scientist to drive user acquisition and retention strategies as well as impact product development with insights on user behavior and user expectations.

As a marketing data scientist, you'll be playing a key role in generating data-driven intelligence about our marketing activity’s impact on our users, optimize marketing targeting, as well as understand user lifecycle as we look to further enhance growth and deepen engagement. 

Here are some of the things you would work on

  • Build data pipeline to create summary tables in databricks and dashboards in tableau/ redash that enhance understanding of user lifecycle and marketing performance
  • Take end to end ownership of building data pipelines, understanding features that impact performance, leveraging those to run marketing campaigns to test hypotheses.
  • Collaborate with platform engineers and product managers for data instrumentation and test various sign up flows and acquisition strategies.
  • Identify new opportunities for personalization to optimize marketing and increase user acquisition rates.
  • Keep it real with your actions, be brave with your decisions, do the right thing for users, and shape the future of the company with excitement.

Qualifications:

  • Quantitative background in computer science, statistics, math, or related disciplines.
  • Advanced knowledge of experimentation and statistical methods.
  • Familiarity with experimental design in the marketing world is a plus, for example, paid search, paid social, email.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience analyzing data at scale from inception to business impact.
  • Proven ability to tailor data-driven insights to business problems in a cross-functional team.
  • Strong programming skills (Java/Python/R + SQL)
  • Self-driven with the ability to work in a self-guided manner. Motivated to drive tasks to completion and take ownership of projects.
  • Superb communication and organization skills.
  • Genuinely excited about working in a startup, learning and solving problems without getting constrained by current knowledge or experience.
